psalm 100

I wrote a tune last week to the words of Psalm 100.  I love this Psalm because it is a direct call for us to worship the Lord.  It gives us instruction on how to praise Him and why we should.  Below is how I paraphrased the text into hymn-form, along with a lo-fi recording of it (I recorded it outside because it was such a nice day.  However, when I came back inside and listened to it I heard the roof air conditioner blaring over any “natural” sounds that might have been picked up.  Oh well…).

“Psalm 100”

Shout for joy   to the LORD,

Shout for joy   to the LORD,

Worship the LORD with gladness;

Come before him with joyful songs.

Know the LORD; he is God.

Know the LORD; he is God.

It is he who has made us,

We are his; we are his people

Enter his  holy place

Enter his  holy place

With thanks and his courts with praise;

Give honor to him and praise his name.

Praise his name.

For the LORD; he is good

For the LORD; he is good

And his love endures forever;

His faithfulness remains for all to know.

For all to know.

    Is there any way to get a chord sheet or lead sheet for this song? It’s beautiful! I’d love to have some of my praise team members share this song for our Thanksgiving Eve service this year. I can be contacted at larisa@mediapresbyterian.org Thanks for any help you can give – Larisa
